This international competition marks the unofficial start of the 2024-25 season for the Rams under the leadership of Head Coach Bridgette Mitchell. In her first season at the helm, Coach Mitchell led the team to an impressive performance, securing the most wins by a first-year Fordham women’s basketball coach since the 1993-94 season. The team excelled in steals and blocks per game, showcasing their defensive prowess.

Despite losing seven players to graduation, the Rams are returning a strong core of players for the upcoming season. Senior standout Taylor Donaldson, who led the A-10 conference in points per game last season, will be a key player to watch. Alongside Donaldson, senior Taya Davis, and juniors Rose Nelson and Kaila Berry will provide depth and experience to the team.

The Rams will also welcome new additions to their roster, including international talents like Camila De Pool and Anastasija Veljovic. These players bring a mix of skill and height to the team, adding depth to the guard and forward positions. Additionally, a trio of native New Yorkers, including Karissa Antoine, Emma Wilson-Santos, and Zaria Shazer, will bring their talents to Fordham for the upcoming season.

The team has also made strategic moves in the transfer portal, adding players like Chaé Harris and Amiyah Ferguson to bolster their roster. These additions bring a mix of scoring ability and athleticism to the team, enhancing their offensive capabilities.

The Rams will wrap up their international competition by facing Athens Select on August 16. This game will provide another opportunity for the team to showcase their skills and build chemistry as they prepare for the upcoming season.

Overall, the Fordham University women’s basketball team is poised for an exciting season ahead. With a mix of returning players and new additions, the Rams are ready to compete at a high level and make their mark in the A-10 conference. Fans can look forward to an exciting season filled with competitive matchups and standout performances from this talented team.
