A Preview of Upcoming Trends in Golf Fashion and Accessories

The recent three-day PGA Buying Summit in Frisco, Texas, home of the PGA of America, was a showcase for over 150 golf brands to display their latest apparel, accessories, and products. This intimate and focused environment provided a unique opportunity for brands to exhibit current and upcoming golf fashion trends and innovations, as well as network with industry members. Here are some highlights from the show that are worth noting:

Keep Your Cool

Temperature regulation in golf apparel continues to advance with innovative technologies. Holderness & Bourne introduced their new "Airation" fabric polo shirts, layering pieces, and outerwear that perform like pique but feel like jersey, thanks to minuscule perforations for comfort and breathability. ANEW Golf showcased their "Ice Dot" hybrid cooling fabrication that absorbs body heat and replaces it with a lasting cooling sensation, making summer golf much more tolerable. DUER presented their "No Sweat" golf pants and shorts made with plant-derived Tencil fibers, providing a soft-hand feel, structured fit, and natural inhibition of bacterial growth, along with stretch for freedom of movement.

Have It Your Way

Customization in golf apparel has reached new levels, with brands like TRUE Linkswear using laser machines to create designs and apply graphics on footwear and headwear. Hari Mari, a premium sandal brand, now offers the option to add a golf club’s logo to flip flop straps.

Prints with a Twist

Never A Wallflower Club presented macro knit prints on tops, cardigans, and skirts featuring large format images for golf, tennis, and pickleball. A. Putnam featured a custom print on stretch twill fabric hand-drawn by an artist in Portugal, tying in with the collection’s color palette for spring/summer ’25.

Neutral Zone

The demand for sophistication and timeless looks in golf apparel is on the rise, with brands like Honors offering versatile pieces in contemporary core colors. Williams Athletic Club, founded by textile management expert Susi Proudman, debuted a collection for spring/summer ’25 featuring premium fabrics and styles for women seeking fashion and functionality. Asher Golf contributes to the neutral theme with colors inspired by nature, such as a Pine green wind shirt in their winter 2024 collection.

In addition to the showcased highlights, there were several other noteworthy developments at the PGA Buying Summit.
