Results of CHQ Chamber Golf Tournament Announced

The annual CHQ Chamber Golf Tournament took place at Peek’n Peak Resort, where thirty-one teams of golfers enjoyed a sunny and pleasant day on the upper course. The winning team, representing A Automotive, consisted of Kevin Maytum, Marcus Lutgen, Kris Brown, and Bill Loomis, with an impressive score of 56. In second place were Brian Pender, Cody Gleason, Owen Bloom, and Tony DeMichele for Northlake Development, scoring 61. The third-place team was Mike Bird, Todd Conklin, Jeff Keppel, and Randy Olson, representing The Post-Journal, also with a score of 61.

The tournament also featured individual competitions, with Kayla Trussalo from Falconer Power Sports winning both the Women’s Closest to the Pin and the Women’s Longest Drive. Scott Robbins of Westfield Nursery claimed the Men’s Closest to the Pin title, while Marcus Lutgen took home the Men’s Longest Drive award. Nolan Hunt from Charlie’s Auto Center was the sole player to shoot into the “Ring of Fire” and win the prize.

Various sponsors supported the event, including Basil Chevrolet as the tee gift sponsor and numerous par sponsors such as A Automotive, Brooks-TLC Hospital System, and National Grid. Tee sign sponsors included companies like Chautauqua Sign Company and Phillips Lytle. Lunch and snacks were provided by sponsors like Lawley Insurance and M&T Bank, with additional products from Tops in Dunkirk and Pepsi Cola.

For the first time, Tee Talk sponsors were invited to sponsor a hole and engage with golfers as they played through. AHN Westfield Hospital, Kinetic by Windstream, and the Small Business Development Center at JCC were among the Tee Talk sponsors.

Raffle prizes were generously provided by local businesses, adding to the excitement of the tournament. The annual golf event not only serves as a fundraiser for the CHQ Chamber but also offers valuable networking opportunities and recognition for sponsors. The Chamber Golf Committee, led by Jim Pullan of Jamestown Mattress Company, along with dedicated volunteers and staff members, ensure the success of the tournament each year.

In addition to the golf tournament, the CHQ Chamber hosts various networking events throughout the year. Business After Hours at Hideaway Bay Resort on September 19 promises a unique experience at a stunning venue. Sponsored by local businesses like DFT Communications and Jamestown Community College, the event offers a chance to connect with fellow business professionals in a picturesque setting.

Looking ahead, the CHQ Chamber Congressional Luncheon on October 3 will feature Congressman Nick Langworthy as the guest speaker. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with the Congressman and gain insights into current legislative issues. Sponsored by organizations like UPMC Chautauqua and Chautauqua Institution, the luncheon provides a platform for local businesspeople to interact with their Congressional Representative.
