Return of All-State Players Rehill, McKernan, Campenni, and Flynn to Wyoming Area Field Hockey

The Wyoming Area field hockey team is gearing up for another successful season, with a lineup that boasts four returning players who received all-state recognition last year. Led by senior midfielder Lyla Rehill, who was a first-team selection in Class A, the Lady Warriors are looking to build on their recent achievements.

Rehill, who led the team in assists and points last season with 18 goals and 21 assists, was instrumental in Wyoming Area’s historic win of the first Wyoming Valley Conference Division 1 title in school history. Her impressive performance earned her a spot on the all-state team, a significant accomplishment for the talented player.

Joining Rehill in the lineup are three other standout players: senior forward Ella McKernan, junior forward Lucia Campenni, and senior midfielder Ainsley Flynn. McKernan, a second-team choice, contributed eight goals and eight assists last season, while Campenni and Flynn received honorable mention for their solid performances on the field.

With half of the starting lineup returning from a successful 16-2 season, including a District 2 championship game appearance, the Lady Warriors are poised for another strong showing. Coach Bree Bednarski has high expectations for the team this season, following a productive preseason that has the players ready to compete at a high level.

In addition to the returning starters, five players who gained varsity experience as freshmen last season are back on the roster. This young talent, combined with the experience of the senior players, creates a deep and well-rounded team that is prepared to take on any challenge that comes their way.

The rest of the roster is filled out by a mix of seniors, juniors, sophomores, and freshmen, providing depth and versatility to the team. With a strong core of players and a dedicated coaching staff, the Wyoming Area field hockey team is well-positioned to continue their success and make a mark in the upcoming season.

As the Lady Warriors prepare to hit the field and showcase their skills, fans can expect an exciting and competitive season ahead. With a talented lineup and a winning mindset, Wyoming Area is ready to take on any opponent and continue their journey of success in the world of field hockey.
