News-Herald releases 2024 area rosters for high school girls tennis

The Beaumont tennis team, led by Coach Lauren Smith, is gearing up for another exciting season after finishing last year with a solid 9-5 record. With a talented roster that includes Maya Blazer, Nina Bramhall, Lily Dixon, Bryn Safran, Emma Wolf, Lucy Wolf, and Lucy Workman, the team is poised for success on the court.

Chagrin Falls, under the guidance of first-year coach Kathleen Aranavage, is coming off a 10-6-2 season (4-4 CVC). The team’s roster boasts a mix of experienced players like Delaney Joyce and Mary Claire Holdren, as well as up-and-coming talent like Ingrid Latore and Anna Hively.

Geneva, coached by Scott Torok in his 27th year, had an impressive 17-4 record last season, clinching the CVC Lake championship with a perfect 12-0 conference record. The team’s starters, including Mickey Zheng, Addison DiPofi, Abby Griffiths, and Ayva Encarnacion, are ready to defend their title and make a run at the state tournament.

Gilmour, with Claudia Althans at the helm in her first year, is coming off a 13-2 season. The team’s singles lineup features Abigail Lynch, Caroline Koch, and Grier Peckham, while the doubles pairs of Natalie Andelova/Gianna Francisco and Katherine Frawley/Quinn Doyle provide a strong foundation for success.

Hawken, coached by Lori Shulman in her second year, had a stellar 12-3 record last season, going undefeated in CVC play. With a lineup that includes state qualifiers Dani Forte and Valeria Kislyansky, the team is poised for another successful campaign.

Mentor, led by Joe Morgan in his 13th year, finished last season with a 10-7 record. The team’s starters, including Maddie Menough, Sara Urbanowski, Mya Lorence, and Kira Florek, are ready to compete at a high level and make a push for the playoffs.

North, under first-year coach Lexie Danch, is looking to build on last season’s success with a lineup that includes Grace Forwick, Gabby Cannato, Adrianna Vujica, and Luci Hinde. The team’s depth and talent bode well for a strong showing this season.

Riverside, with Scott Bailis at the helm in his first year, finished last season with a 6-6 record (3-3 WRC). The team’s starters, including Julia Barrow, Payton Havanchak, and Caridee Longauer, are ready to compete at a high level and make a push for the playoffs.

South, coached by Janeen Miklowski in her eighth year, is led by a talented lineup that includes Cara Nejak, Lindsay Nejak, Julie Chen, and Kailyn Weidenaar. The team’s depth and skill make them a formidable opponent for any team they face.

West Geauga, under the guidance of Mary Kay Yuhas in her second year, finished last season with a 5-5 record. The team’s starters, including Lillian Isgro, Caroline Yeager, and Cassia Rogers, are ready to compete at a high level and make a push for the playoffs.
