Navy Women’s Golf Welcomes Two New Members to the Team

Navy women’s golf head coach Kylee Sullivan recently announced the addition of two new members to the team for the upcoming 2024-25 season. Freshmen Vivian Cressman and Megan Kirkpatrick are set to join the program, bringing their talent and passion for the sport to the Naval Academy.

„We are thrilled to have Vivian and Megan join the team,“ Sullivan expressed. „I believe that they will make an immediate impact not only on the course but in every aspect of the team and the Academy. They have both had great junior golf careers, and we can’t wait to see what they accomplish.“

Cressman and Kirkpatrick will be joining a team that already boasts six returning players from last season’s Patriot League Championship squad. Their addition is expected to strengthen the team and contribute to their continued success in the upcoming season.

Vivian Cressman, a 5’3″ golfer from Middleton, Wisconsin, brings a wealth of experience to the team. She played four years of golf at Middleton High School, earning numerous accolades along the way. Cressman received all-state first-team honors as both a junior and senior, finishing in the top ranks in state competitions. She was also named the Big 8 Conference Golfer of the Year in 2023 and has showcased her skills in various championships, including the Wisconsin Girls Junior Matchplay Championship.

Megan Kirkpatrick, a 5’7″ golfer from Woodbine, Maryland, also comes with an impressive high school golf career. Playing for Glenelg High School, Kirkpatrick earned First-Team All-Howard County honors for all four years and set the Howard County all-time nine-hole single match scoring record. She has proven herself as a top competitor, claiming individual district championships and finishing as a runner-up at the state tournament.

Both Cressman and Kirkpatrick bring a strong work ethic, dedication, and talent to the Navy women’s golf team. Their addition is expected to elevate the team’s performance and contribute to their pursuit of excellence on and off the course.

As the team prepares for the upcoming season, the addition of these two talented freshmen is sure to bring excitement and anticipation for what lies ahead. With a mix of experienced returners and promising newcomers, Navy women’s golf is poised for another successful season under the guidance of Coach Kylee Sullivan. Fans can look forward to watching Cressman and Kirkpatrick make their mark on the collegiate golf scene and contribute to the team’s continued success.
