The Bombers Baseball Academy 11-U travel team made headlines recently after dominating the competition at the San Diego Global World Series. The team, based in Greenbrae, put on an impressive display of skill and teamwork, going undefeated in seven games to claim the championship title.

Led by head coach Allan Kunst and assistant coaches Parker Ott and Ben Scott, the Bombers roster was stacked with talented young players. Standout performers included Jack Leh, Callan Carey, Ben Walker, Cyrus Bentaleb, Gabe Oliveros, Cullen Ott, Blake Day, Beckett Glynn, Will Raymond, Max Daily, Jesse Wheeler, Ian Bowman, Zander Middleton, John Andreini, and Blaise Claxton.

In the championship game against ZT Prospects from Anaheim, the Bombers showed their resilience and determination. Trailing 5-0 early on, the team rallied in the fifth inning, scoring five runs to take a commanding lead. Bentaleb and Bowman were instrumental in the comeback, delivering clutch hits when it mattered most.

Despite a valiant effort from ZT Prospects to tie the game at 5-5, the Bombers refused to back down. With key hits from Claxton and Cullen Ott, the team regained the lead and held on for a 12-7 victory. The win was a testament to the Bombers‘ ability to perform under pressure and come together as a cohesive unit.

Throughout the tournament, the Bombers showcased their talent and determination, finishing with a remarkable 27-6-1 record and four tournament victories during the summer season. Their success was a result of hard work, dedication, and a never-say-die attitude that propelled them to victory time and time again.

One of the most memorable moments of the tournament came in the quarterfinals against MVP SD Black. In a pitchers‘ duel that saw no runs scored through the first five innings, John Andreini stepped up with a walk-off hit in the bottom of the sixth to secure a 1-0 win for the Bombers. Andreini’s heroics epitomized the team’s ability to rise to the occasion when it mattered most.

In the semifinals, the Bombers faced off against the Costa Mesa Sox, a formidable opponent ranked No. 2 in California in the USSSA rankings. Behind a strong pitching performance from Bentaleb and clutch hitting from Middleton, Day, and Raymond, the Bombers secured a hard-fought 5-2 victory to advance to the championship game.

The Bombers‘ journey to the championship was a testament to their talent, teamwork, and never-say-die attitude. With a roster full of promising young players and dedicated coaching staff, the future looks bright for the Bombers Baseball Academy.
