Lady Owls and Redhawks to Compete in Volleyball Tri-Match Hosted by Volleyball Team on Monday

The Keiser volleyball team is gearing up for an exciting tri-match against Oregon Tech and Benedictine Mesa on Monday, August 19, following a successful appearance at the Vipers Sports Academy Classic over the weekend. The Seahawks, who currently hold a perfect 5-0 record, will face off against the Redhawks at 10:00 AM and then take on the Lady Owls at 2:00 PM at the Student Life Center. Oregon Tech and Benedictine Mesa will also compete against each other at noon.

Keiser’s impressive performance in the first five games of the season has been nothing short of remarkable. The team boasts a hitting percentage of .316, ranking them third in the nation, and has accumulated 247 kills, placing them second in the nation. Outside hitter Mackenzie Pryor has been a standout player for the Seahawks, leading the team and the nation in kills with 94 and kills per set with 6.27. Pryor, a native of Hagerstown, Maryland, set a school record for kills in a four-set match with 32 in Keiser’s recent victory over Mobile.

Hannah Heide, the team’s setter, has also been instrumental in Keiser’s success, tallying 183 assists in the past week and averaging 10.76 assists per set. Her impressive performance has earned her the second spot in the NAIA rankings for total assists. Additionally, libero Faith Marquis has made a significant impact in her first five matches as a Seahawk, averaging 5.29 digs per set.

The upcoming tri-match on August 19 promises to be an exciting event for volleyball fans. Oregon Tech enters the competition with a 2-0 record, while Benedictine Mesa finished the previous weekend’s tournament with a 3-1 mark.

Keiser’s strong start to the season, coupled with their impressive statistics, positions them as a formidable opponent in the upcoming matches. Head Coach James Rogers, with an overall record of 167-69, has undoubtedly played a crucial role in the team’s success. The Seahawks‘ ranking as the third-best team in the nation in hitting percentage and second in total kills reflects their dominance on the court.
