Fordham Women’s Basketball Welcomes New Staff Members for 2024-25 Season

The Fordham Women’s Basketball program is gearing up for the 2024-25 season with the addition of two new staff members, Brooke Alverson and Jared Wilson. Head Coach Bridgette Mitchell announced the hiring of Alverson as the Director of Women’s Basketball Administration and Branding, and Wilson as the Rams‘ Video Analyst. Both Alverson and Wilson bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the team, and their contributions are sure to elevate the program to new heights.

Brooke Alverson joins the Fordham Women’s Basketball staff after spending the last two years at West Texas A&M University, where she served as the Assistant Director of Athletic Communication. During her time at West Texas A&M, Alverson covered multiple National Championship teams and worked with numerous All-American and Olympic athletes. Coach Mitchell expressed her excitement about Alverson joining the team, highlighting her hard work, passion, and proven track record of success. Alverson’s background in coaching, social media management, and marketing campaigns make her a valuable addition to the program.

Alverson’s experience extends beyond her time at West Texas A&M, as she has also coached for 15 years and served as an assistant coach for the Lady Buffs‘ Volleyball team, which won the NCAA Division II National Championship in 2022. Her involvement in College Sports Communicators and her grant for social and marketing strategies showcase her dedication to professional development and innovation in the field. Alverson’s background in journalism and broadcasting, coupled with her coaching experience, make her a well-rounded addition to the Fordham Women’s Basketball staff.

Jared Wilson, the Rams‘ new Video Analyst, brings a wealth of experience from his time working with the USC women’s basketball team and the Los Angeles Sparks of the WNBA. Wilson’s background in video analytics and scouting simulations will be instrumental in helping the Fordham Women’s Basketball team improve their performance and strategy on the court. Coach Mitchell praised Wilson as a rising star in the profession, noting his experience at USC and his ability to convey the game through film in a way that benefits the athletes.

Wilson’s tenure at USC saw him play a key role in the team’s success during the 2023-24 season, where the Trojans posted an impressive record and advanced to the Elite-8 in the NCAA Tournament. His experience working with pro players at the Los Angeles Sparks further solidifies his expertise in player development and scouting. Wilson’s educational background in Political Science and his commitment to instilling the university’s values and principles align with Fordham’s mission and vision for its student-athletes.
