This decision marks the beginning of a new era for the UIndy golf programs, and it comes with high expectations and excitement from both the university and Serketich himself.

Dr. D. Scott Gines, the Interim Director of Intercollegiate Athletics at UIndy, expressed his enthusiasm for the new leadership in the golf programs. He praised Serketich as a talented coach with a strong focus on talent identification, athlete development, and program success. Serketich’s dedication to his athletes, alumni, and donors was highlighted as a key factor in his selection for the position.

In response to his appointment, Serketich expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to lead the UIndy golf programs. He acknowledged the university’s tradition of excellence in golf and expressed his excitement to contribute to that legacy. With a background in coaching and operations at reputable institutions like the University of Notre Dame and Queens University of Charlotte, Serketich brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his new role at UIndy.

Serketich’s coaching journey includes successful stints at both Notre Dame and Queens University of Charlotte. At Queens, he led the men’s golf team to two South Atlantic Conference championships and coached multiple All-SAC selections. His tenure at Queens also saw the team’s transition to NCAA Division I competition, where they achieved notable accomplishments such as setting new program records and producing All-American players.

Beyond his coaching roles, Serketich has also gained valuable experience in the business world, working in marketing and project management roles. His diverse background and educational achievements, including an MBA from Queens University, further enhance his qualifications as a well-rounded leader for the UIndy golf programs.

As Serketich prepares to take on his new role at UIndy, he is eager to make an impact and lead the teams to further success. His enthusiasm for joining the UIndy community and his commitment to the program’s growth and development are evident in his statement: „I cannot wait to get to Indy and get started. Go Hounds!“

With Serketich set to begin his duties in late August, the UIndy golf programs are poised for a promising future under his leadership. His track record of success, combined with his passion for coaching and dedication to excellence, make him a valuable addition to the university’s athletic department.
