University of South Carolina Athletics Unveils Women’s Golf Schedule for 2024-25 Season, Announced by Anderson

The South Carolina Women’s Golf team, under the leadership of head coach Kalen Anderson, is gearing up for an exciting 2024-25 season. With all six contributing players returning from last season’s successful squad, expectations are high for the Gamecocks as they look to build on their accomplishments and make a strong push in both regular season and postseason play.

Coach Anderson, who was named SEC Coach of the Year for the fourth time last spring, is excited to see her team in action once again. The team’s core players, including All-Americans Hannah Darling and Louise Rydqvist, are back for their senior seasons and are determined to leave their mark on the program.

The season kicks off with the prestigious ANNIKA Intercollegiate, where the Gamecocks will look to defend their title against a top field of competitors. This event sets the stage for what promises to be an action-packed season, with the team competing in a total of eight regular season events before heading into postseason play in April.

Throughout the fall, Carolina will face tough competition at events such as the Mason Rudolph Championship, the Windy City Collegiate Classic, and the Jackson T. Stephens Cup. These tournaments will provide valuable opportunities for the team to test their skills against some of the best programs in the nation.

As the season transitions into the spring, the Gamecocks will continue their quest for success at events like the Therese Hession Regional Challenge and the Moon Golf Invitational. However, the highlight of the spring season is undoubtedly the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate, a premier event hosted by South Carolina in partnership with Long Cove Club and Darius Rucker himself. With live coverage on Golf Channel, this tournament has become a must-watch for fans of women’s collegiate golf.

The regular season will conclude with the Old Barnwell Derby Match Play before the team sets its sights on the SEC Championship in April. Following the conference tournament, the Gamecocks will look to secure their spot in the NCAA Regionals, where the top-five teams at each site will advance to the NCAA Championship.

The ultimate goal for the South Carolina Women’s Golf team is to make their fifth consecutive appearance at the NCAA Championship, which will be held at Omni La Costa in Carlsbad, Calif. This prestigious event will provide the team with an opportunity to showcase their talent on a national stage and compete against the best teams in the country.

With a challenging schedule ahead and a talented roster of players, the Gamecocks are poised for another successful season under Coach Anderson’s guidance. Fans can expect thrilling competition, exciting moments, and a team that is determined to achieve greatness in the world of women’s collegiate golf.
