Women’s Golf Announces 2024-25 Schedule

The Wichita State University women’s golf team, under the leadership of head coach Tom McCurdy, is gearing up for an exciting 2024-25 season. With a finalized tournament schedule that promises a mix of familiar and new events, the Shockers are poised to make their mark on the collegiate golf scene.

Coach McCurdy expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming season, highlighting the team’s strong schedule compared to previous years. The Shockers will kick off their season with The Powercat Invitational at Colbert Hills Golf Course in Manhattan, Kansas, followed by trips to Colorado for the Golfweek Red Sky Classic and the Ron Moore Intercollegiate in Denver. The team will then head to Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, for the Diamante Intercollegiate before taking a break.

After the winter break, the Shockers will travel to San Marcos, Texas, for the Texas State Invitational before embarking on three trips to Arizona for the Rio Verde Invitational, the Mountain View Intercollegiate, and the Red Rocks Invitational. The regular season will conclude in College Station, Texas, at the „Mo“ Morial Invitational hosted by Texas A&M.

The pinnacle of the season will be the 2025 American Athletic Conference Championship at Southern Hills Plantation Club in Brooksville, Florida. Coach McCurdy emphasized the opportunity for the team to compete against a diverse range of opponents, which will help improve their national ranking.

The 2024-25 roster features a mix of experience and new talent, with juniors Mackenzie Wilson and Kate Tilma leading the returning players. Graduate student Sarah Lawson and junior Brooklyn Benn round out the returning group, while international freshmen Amy Knotts, Amelie Paul, and Lara Stifter, along with Troy transfer Samantha Straight, add depth to the team.
